H&M Will Close All Stores in the USA and Canada in Order to Mitigate Further Spread of the Novel Coronavirus

NEW YORK, March 17, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — H & M, Hennes and Mauritz AB, will close all its retail stores across the United States and Canada, starting today until April 2nd, to help weaken the spread of COVID 19.

H&M’s top priority is maintaining the safety of all its colleagues and customers. We have been diligently following the latest recommendations made by local governments and the relevant health authorities and have been agile.

For the past couple weeks, H&M has taken additional steps in all offices, warehouses and stores including staggered work schedules, reduced opening hours, closure of fitting rooms and additional safety and cleaning steps to help protect and support employees and customers through this health crisis. H&M has also extended the return policy.

Nonetheless, the unprecedented and everchanging nature of the situation, the need for social distancing and in order to help reduce contraction of the virus, H&M has decided to close all stores until April 2nd. We will continue to support our colleagues who are impacted by the closure with two weeks of continued pay.

H&M will continue to operate their online site so customers may visit them at hm.com  24/7.
